Glitter Grapes are perfect for a summer treat. Frozen grapes that taste like candy will have your kids WANTING to eat healthy. And you can customize the colors for any occasion!
I have been making these frozen grapes for years. When I was little, my grandma Zada would ALWAYS have cherry frozen grapes and I literally thought I was eating candy. I had no idea they were just grapes covered in jello. Now that I have kids of my own, I love giving my son healthy treats instead of candy. He’s actually never had candy, so he doesn’t know what he’s missing out on 😉
These are just so much fun, your kids could even make these if they’re old enough. I love that with these, everything is completely customizable. You can use red or green grapes (green shows color better), or you can change up the color of jello for whatever theme you’re wanting.
There are 2 ways to make these… pretty OR fast. The first way I’m going to show you is how to make these absolutely beautiful if you’re wanting to show them off at a party.
First, get everything you need all set up and ready to go:
I used 4 different types of jello packets (Jolly Rancher: Watermelon, Cherry, Green Apple, and Blue Raspberry) and I separated them into different bowls.
Also, for this version you’ll need a little bowl of water and 4 toothpicks – one for each color of jello.
Next, take a toothpick and stick it in the end where it’s normally attached to the vine.
Dunk the grape into the water.
Finally, roll the grape around in the jello powder. Repeat with every flavor jello until you have done as many grapes as you want complete. This technique will take FOREVER (probably 45 mins or longer depending on how many grapes) but it will make them look absolutely gorgeous!
Look at how beautiful those are! And all of these pictures have no color retouching or anything to make them look different. That is seriously the color of them once the jello has sat for a while and got a little wet.
You can put them in a freezer or fridge on the tray to keep them nice and pretty. Don’t mind the freezer stocked with 100 chickens hahaha. If you want to eat them right away, I suggest putting them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. It will get them firm but not completely frozen.
Now…. for the next version. The super fast but not as pretty version… I do this 99% of the time. I really think I like the way these taste better. You don’t end up getting so much jello on them… sometimes the jello powder can almost overtake everything.
This is literally all the work you have to do to get set up! Make sure you wash the fruit 🙂
Separate the grapes equally into the bags and dump the powder over them.
Shake the powder to cover all the grapes. That’s literally it. So easy and that maybe took 3 minutes to do all 4 bags. Sooooooooo much faster than the other way!
Plop them in the freezer and they’re all ready for you to eat whenever you want.
They’re almost too pretty to eat…. almost 😉 Now I’m going to go enjoy this entire bowl… and hopefully my son doesn’t come find me!
A healthy & delicious way to get kids to eat fruit. So much fun to customize for parties and the kiddos can help out!

- 2 bags green grapes
- 4 packages of Jolly Rancher jello (watermelon, cherry, blue raspberry, and green apple)
- Toothpicks (optional)
- Remove grapes from stems.
- Wash grapes.
- Place grapes into freezer safe ziplock baggies.
- Separate grapes equally into 4 baggies.
- Pour different jello flavors into separate bags.
- Freeze for at least an hour and enjoy.
- Have fun with the flavors and colors! You do not have to use the Jolly Rancher brand. I just use whatever I'm in the mood for. I really like the Jolly Rancher brand because a couple flavors are a little sour.
